Green Terramesh
Green Terramesh® is an environmentally friendly system used for soil reinforcement such as mechanically stabilized earth slopes and embankments.  Units are placed in horizontal layers during the filling and compaction of a structural embankment. The vertical spacing between reinforcements is determined by the design in order to provide the required shear strength for the soil embankment.

Green Terramesh® is a completely assembled unit made of double twisted wire mesh, a biodegradable erosion control blanket, a welded mesh panel and two pre-formed steel brackets. The main unit is fabricated from heavily galvanized wire conforming to BS443 Standards and coated with Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC). Attached to the inside facing is a biodegradable 100% palm oil fiber (Biomac). This facing retains the backfill and permits a vegetative cover to establish rapidly. The welded wire mesh panel, placed behind the erosion blanket, pre-formed to shape to the required slope angle (60 or 70 degrees), adds strength and provides support to the facing while holding the blanket in place during the construction.

Green Terramesh® structures have unique characteristics:

Environmentally friendly. It allows fast and effective vegetation growth especially if a hydro seeding treatment on the slope surface is used. The insertion of willow cuttings at each layer or other bioengineering techniques may also be used.

Structurally sound. The wire mesh reinforcement is continuous along the reinforcement plane, the sloped facing and the top return section. This eliminates the risk of connection failures between the reinforcement and the facing section.

Cost effective. Green Terramesh® structures can be built with fills available on-site, if adequate; requiring a minimal imported material. The modularity of the unit makes the construction time cost effective.
