River Restoration: Projects involving widening and deepening of rivers requires a lot of dredging works and transportation of dredging material away from the site. MacTube provides a more environmentally friendly and economically viable solution by reducing the transportation cost of dredge material by reusing the dredge material to fill the tube. The high strength woven geotextile allows the confined tube to be designed as retaining wall to protect the river bank.

Foundation Engineering: Bridge crossing over river with high water current are constantly exposed to scouring at the bottom of the piers. During flood, an increase in water speed as it moves through a bridge opening which is narrower than the natural river channel will remove sediment from the bottom by river. This will result in lowering of the river bottom and exposing the pillars of the bridge and eventually could jeopardize the safety of the bridge. Due to the high permeability characteristic and flexible nature of the MacTube, engineers can design MacTube for protection of bridge pillars against scouring without disrupting the water flow.

Dewatering Sludge: MacTube is used for dewatering of sludge for industrial and agricultural waste due to its high resistance to chemical, biological and UV degradation.
