Erosion Control

The superficial erosion caused by the rain water run-off or by the action of wind and temperature changes may be controlled with protection aimed at promoting the plant re-growth which, in the long run, represents the only permanent solution. Different applications may be adopted depending on the rainfall density, the state and angle of the slope, the climatic conditions and the exposure to the above factors.

Maccaferri product range offers protection and stabilization from gentle to dangerously steep slopes; with means related to the entity of each phenomenon.

Permanent Erosion Control

Reinforced Enkamat (Click Here)
Reinforced Enkamat is a proven, flexible permanent erosion prevention mat in controlling surface erosion. It is designed to promote permanent root/stem reinforcement for vegetation on steep slope and in vulnerable erosion-prone areas. The material is made out of dense three- dimensional Polyamide 6 fibers with 95% volume of the mat available for soil filling and possessing good resistance to UV degradation and weathering.

Enkamat 7018 is a flexible three-dimensional matting, produced from polyamide 6 monofilaments welded together where they cross to form a tough, open structured matting with more than 95% free space. Enkamat is utilized to provide permanent (root or stem) reinforcement for vegetation and to collect sediments prior to vegetation establishment.

Temporary Erosion Control

Biomac (Click Here)
BioMac Erosion Control Mattress is made from 100% Malaysian palm oil fibre and reinforced with a clear, fine polypropylene netting securely stitched on both sides to form a strong mat. It is designed specifically for the reduction of slope erosion and when properly seeded will assist in the propagation of new growth in areas subject to occasional hydraulic flows. BioMac reduces erosion and downward migration of slope soil when installed properly. BioMac will decompose with time, fertilizing the soil and expediting richer vegetation growth.
